How to host the Chicest Dinner Party Al Fresco

In Fresno, there are one to two special times of year that the weather is truly perfect for open windows, fresh air, and more time outside before a pool is needed. Our opinion is that you need to take the opportunity while it lasts, and celebrate with a *chic* dinner al fresco with your closest loved ones, and luckily for you, we’re giving you the ultimate guide to host the ultimate soiree.

Create an Aesthetic

We’re suckers for a good theme - it truly takes your dinner to the next level. Host an all-white Summer Solstice backyard get-together, or a “Night on the Amalfi Coast.” Give guests a Bridgerton-esque tea party, a glamping gathering, or a farm-to-table fete. Whatever your style is, choosing an overall aesthetic will help guide the rest of the details.

Set the Scene

Once you’ve nailed down your vibe, you can set the table accordingly. From the florals to the plates to the fun extra little details, you can bring your theme to life. We recommend looking at Meri Meri, Harlow & Grey, or even Etsy for inspiration. Create a fun playlist and beautiful centerpieces to complete the look.

Meaningful Menus

“Wow” your guests with custom stationary that you can design (thanks, Canva!) and print at-home. Send an evite, have a pre-printed menu at each table-setting, and even a specialty cocktail sign for extra little details. Ensure your theme translates to the menu, and have a bar stocked with pairing drink options. After all, the cuisine is the main event!

Dress for the Occasion

Let your guests in on the fun. Let them know in the evite to dress accordingly! If you’re not opting for a costume party (go big or go home), you can always let them know the dress code.

We hope this inspired you to create a fun evening to celebrate the season. Don’t forget - pics or it didn’t happen. Tag us in your parties at @rpmpr
