Spring Essentials for 2021

Okay, let’s be honest - most of the time, we completely want to set fire to our closets. It’s easy to feel like the same ol’ stuff isn’t speaking to us anymore. With a new season and new trends, closet envy gets real. Lucky for you, most of this year’s must-haves are probably items that you already have in your wardrobe, and if not, we got you - we’re giving you a few ideas to freshen up your look.

Work to Weekend: The Trusted Trouser

While many of us are still plugging away from home, opting for sweatpants seems to be an easy choice. However, we suggest mixing things up with a pair of flared or high-waisted trousers to elevate your style. Blow the dust off those bad boys that have been hanging in your closet for the last year, throw on a pair of heels, and step out to a (socially distanced, patio-only) dinner with your boo.

Did you get the memo? Cardigans are back in. 

No, we’re not talking about those Free People-esque longline or oversized sweaters. We mean those classic, “mom’s taking us out to Saroyan Theater and it’s chilly outside” cardigans that usually come in a pastel shade. Now, button-up cardigans are a must-have trend for spring, to be paired perfectly with a pair of trousers or high-waisted jeans. 

Puff sleeves for every season.

Puff sleeves have been in style for some time now, and spring is proving that they’re not going away anytime soon (thank you, Bridgerton vibes). With dresses, blouses, and even trench coats taking on this elevated accent, puff sleeves are versatile staples that you absolutely neeeeeeeeed.

Feminine prints, patterns, and colors are still groundbreaking.

Almost everything this season comes in a fun mix of details that add a bit of personality to standard basics. From polka dots to florals, certain patterns are known to re-emerge each year. We’re noticing toile making a breakthrough this year, thanks to designers reaching to this blue classic once again. For color, it’s no secret that Illuminating Yellow is lighting the way this year, and you’ll notice shades of this hue on pieces from floral headbands to strappy sandals. We’ll definitely be adding these items to our cart.
