Fierce Femmes: Stephanie Lacefield of CORE
Stephanie Lacefield is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and fitness #queen. After starting her own local fitness studio, she’s taking health and wellness to the ‘gram, all while leading her business and family with grace.
Clovis native Stephanie has been teaching Pilates for over 13 years. After teaching at a local studio and starting her own classes at home, she realized that her passion for instructing was growing beyond the limits of her home studio, and took the leap to open CORE in 2019. “Pilates has become quite popular in the Valley, so I took the plunge - it truly benefits all movements,” explains Stephanie. “Learning the foundation of it can have lifelong effects for your mind and body.”
While the studio has been a hit in our local community, Stephanie has had to pivot with the latest Shelter in Place orders. While she had to make the hard decision to temporarily close, a part of her didn’t want to take any resource or routine away from her clients - so she began to rent out the equipment. “It was pretty amazing everything was rented in less than 14 hours,” Stephanie says. “It felt good. I felt with each delivery I was delivering some type of normalcy for each person, and that really fueled me.”
To pair with the rented equipment, Stephanie stepped outside of her comfort zone and began sharing content on Instagram LIVE sessions for her viewers. “It is kind of scary because you are live, but with all things, there is trial and error,” she explains. “So along the way I am trying to have fun with it. It’s me, and it is fueling my mind to provide classes to others.”
Along the way, she’s encouraging positive vibes through fitness, all while keeping it #real. “Each day is different,” says Stephanie. “I try to go with how I feel each day, and make sure I get some form of movement in. It is good for my mind - I am grateful for this time. It is hard, and has its unknowns but honestly, I haven’t had this much free time in years. It is actually hard to stop and reset. I tell myself all the time to just be.”
It’s safe to say that life looks a little different for all of us, especially with Stephanie having two little babes at home from school. Stephanie explains that her first priority is setting a good example for her girls, and keeping her family first. “Ultimately I want them to be proud of me,” Stephanie says. “I want to show them how to just keep showing up, to learn from those roadblocks, how to regroup and keep the faith.”
“I do always check-in and look within our family and know where our limits are, and when we are overextending ourselves,” she says. “You really have to pay attention to your unit, to their needs - and make sure you have some great girlfriends.”
This Fierce Femme is truly an inspiration, and as if it couldn’t get any better, she’s leaving us with her fave smoothie recipe. Read on for her morning shake, and follow along @core.clovis for future classes.
Stephanie’s Morning Smoothie
Plant-based protein (Chocolate Ideal raw is my favorite)
Ice
