Fierce Femmes: Ellie Koleen, Professional Photographer

a singular talent with a cult following to match.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but Ellie Koleen’s photos have a tendency to leave us speechless. At only 27, she’s got the career many seasoned pros would dream of. It helps that she got an early start, snapping photos for her high school journalism courses. It also runs in her blood — her dad Paul Mullins is a fellow photographer.

While she may have honed her skills with some help from her talented father, Ellie’s got an eye that’s all her own. She calls nature her “greatest inspiration” and even lived in Hume Lake for a time, photographing her surroundings and forming her aesthetic perspective.

After moving back to Fresno from Hume Lake, Ellie’s solo career took off, with a special focus on wedding photography. She credits her success to “having a style that's different and unique compared to what everyone else is doing.” Her unique point of view continues to grow her business, as she has expanded beyond weddings into photographing products, interior design portfolios, family and boudoir portraits, and mor

Ellie’s success at such a young age is certainly something to be proud of, but the icing on the cake is that she loves what she does. As she puts it, “when you have passion behind what you're doing, you can serve people wholeheartedly.”
